All resources Advocating for a Family Member in another country to visit their medically sick relative
- Immigration
- Letter
Many immigrants living in the United States, particularly individuals who are undocumented, have much lower rates of health insurance coverage and healthcare utilization than US-born citizens. Support from family members can be crucial for people who are very medically sick, yet immigration policies can make it challenging for relatives to visit the United States to provide support.
This letter can be used to advocate for patients who are very medically sick to be cared for by relatives who reside outside of the United States and would normally be unable to travel to the country due to immigration policies.
